The team behind Jupuary has officially launched an appeals process for users flagged as sybils or bots, introducing a cutting-edge verification method in partnership with zkemail. This experimental system utilizes zero-knowledge (zk) proofs to confirm the authenticity of users—playfully dubbed “real cats”—while safeguarding their privacy.
Participants in the appeal process can choose between two options: submitting one email from a supported centralized exchange (CEX) or providing two emails from popular Web2 services, such as Amazon, Netflix, Apple, Trip.com, or X.com. Due to the resource-heavy nature of generating zk proofs on the client side, the team advises users to access the appeal site—https://jupuary.jup.ag/appeal—via desktop rather than mobile devices.
Described as a pioneering yet nascent technology, the process may encounter some initial challenges. The Jupuary team encourages users to consult the troubleshooting instructions on the site and has pledged support through their Discord channel for any questions or issues that arise.
Eligibility for the appeal is limited to wallets previously marked as sybils or bots. Affected users would have encountered a notification stating, “Your wallet was flagged as a likely sybil … reach out via the appeals process,” during their last allocation check. An “appeal” button will also be visible next to their connected wallet on the dashboard.
In a statement, team representative Mei extended well wishes to participants, saying, “Good luck, godspeed, and see you on the real cat side.”
Thank God
